Welcome to Aleknagik Island Lodge

Embark on the fishing adventure of a lifetime at Aleknagik Island Lodge, where you'll enjoy exceptional sport fishing in a serene, crowd-free setting in the heart of Alaska’s Bristol Bay region. Our lodge is nestled on a private 5-acre island, 25 miles north of Dillingham, within the Wood River Tikchik Lake system—just 350 miles southwest of Anchorage. We use jetboats to access over 120 miles of pristine rivers and lakes. The Wood River Tikchik Lake system is renowned for its abundant runs of all five Pacific salmon species: King, Sockeye, Pink, Chum, and Silver Salmon. In addition, the system is home to large populations of Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling, Northern Pike, and Dolly Varden.

As a family-owned and operated business, Aleknagik Island Lodge is committed to providing more than just fishing—it’s about creating memorable experiences filled with genuine hospitality. With our experienced staff and close-knit team, your stay will be an unforgettable adventure for friends and family alike.

Our season kicks off in mid-June, targeting the big runs of King and Sockeye salmon. We continue to fish for these species until late July, when the Chum and Pink salmon arrive. Silver salmon start migrating in early August, offering great fishing through the start of September. Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling, and Pike are plentiful throughout the season. To ensure a personalized and high-quality experience, we limit our guests to just eight guests per week. Join us for fantastic fishing, stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, delicious family-style meals, and comfortable accommodations!
